In response to pursuitofhoppiness on Beer Hop Breakfast…

pursuitofhoppiness said in reply to my Mikkeller Beer Hop Breakfast review:

Great review. All the breakfast/brunch range I’ve tried so far have been absolutely exceptional - the hop Brekkie being the least exceptional (not by much). You really have to keep looking for the others because they won’t let you down!

Well, since I apparently can’t comment on my own tumblr (ARGHHH) and now that I have sort of changed the direction of this website, I will start responding to comments in this way.

First of all, thanks for your comment. I was recently in a local store that promised to have Beer Geek Breakfast in stock within a few days, but I never got around to checking back. I need to follow up on that.

I really liked Beer Hop Breakfast; the one downside to the beer, which I didn’t write about in my review, was that I thought after one full glass of the beer, the rest of it became hard to finish. I thought what I had in my glass was highly drinkable, but once I poured the rest of the bottle into my tulip, I had a hard time getting it down. Weird. It might have been due to the fact that I poured all the yeast into the glass…

Despite the hoppiness, I could tell the base beer, which is Beer Geek Breakfast, was stellar. I wasn’t lying when I said the coffee flavor in there was the most authentic I’ve ever tasted in a beer. It even topped Founders Breakfast Stout, which is one of my personal favorites.
